MSU Specialty Center opened in its new location June 6, 2017. Cardiology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease and Occupational Medicine services will have increased capacity, access to care and a newly renovated space.

The new location is located at 4650 S. Hagadorn Road across from MSU campus. Phone number is 517-353-4830 and the Fax line is 517-355-2134.

“We have been looking forward to this for awhile,” said Marissa Herrera, clinic manager for MSU Specialty Center. “We had outgrown our space. Our patients will be more comfortable in this new modern office.”

The former location of MSU Specialty Center was the Clinical Center, which also houses MSU Department of Neurology, MSU Family Medicine, MSU Child Health and MSU Family Health Center. Space in the building is limited and at a premium.

At the new location, with the appropriate space, the renovation was thoughtful.

The space was designed for patients – and provider communication.

“When patients run on a treadmill they now can look out a window,” Hererra continues.

Since the space houses four divisions: cardiology, endocrinology, infectious disease and occupational medicine, team rooms for consultative care between divisions offer defined collaboration areas where none existed.

This would be helpful in many cases. “… an endocrinology patient arrives at an appointment and has a fast heartrate. We can now perform an EKG on site and have the cardiologist take a look.” Explains Herrera. “While we have always done this, we now have a defined space for it,” she clarifies.
